JOAD Program
Suffolk Archers JOAD
This program will focus on all aspects of archery: IBO 3D Target shooting, NFAA Field Shoots, NFAA Paper Targets, USA Archery Paper Target Shooting, Aerial Disks, Recurve Bow, Compound Bow and Hunting, along with exposing youth to fun and exciting ways to shoot with games and different targets. It’s also designed to make sure the young archers learn safety and good shooting skills, while having fun with new friends. The age range is from 8 to 20 years old.
This program will follow the guidelines set forth by USA Archery following their JOAD and Discovery Archery programs. It will be taught by a team of instructors that are USA Archery certified in shooting, along with having a national SafeSport training certificate and national range pass.
At this point, is only for Suffolk Archers members’ and associates’ children and grand-children, along with our junior members. The program will start sometime after February, meeting twice a month. The only fee involved is the membership fee to become a member of USA Archery ($45 annually per youth or $130 annually per family). There is no fee being collected by Suffolk Archers.
JOAD will meet the 2nd Friday (6:30pm – 9pm) and the last Saturday (10am – 12:30pm) of each month all year round.
